Hello there, I’m Louisa Crosby!

  • FOUNDER OF GANNETT HEALTH

  • ADULT-GERONTOLOGY ACUTE CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER

Throughout my career as a nurse practitioner, I've had the privilege of serving in diverse medical specialties and practice environments. These have included intensive care, urgent care, hospital medicine, women's health, geriatrics, palliative, and end-of-life care. I've observed that certain healthcare settings maintain an unsustainable pace, which hinders both providers and patients from establishing the more enduring relationships that are so essential to health maintenance.

Recognizing the value of connection, I founded Gannett Health to foster genuine and lasting relationships with my patients.

Bottom line:

My wish is to walk alongside you, and support you to thrive!

I firmly believe that an advocacy-focused model is vital to helping patients reclaim their comfort and optimism within a fragmented healthcare landscape. Embracing a direct primary care model allows me to devote more time to each one of my patients. With the time to get to know you personally, we remain centered on your humanity and goals. Together, we will decide on the care plans that honor your wishes and promote long term health.

Many people also ask this - and the answer is YES! I am always eager to collaborate with other specialties including: traditional Western specialties, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncturists, naturopaths, massage therapists…to name a few.

Some important facts you probably want to know.

Before beginning me career as a nurse practitioner, I was a hospital advocate at SAFE Austin. This laid the foundation for my interest in healthcare and propelled me into a nursing career. I attended Vanderbilt University, where I graduated with specialization as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

I then joined an inspiring team of healthcare providers at Austin Geriatric Specialists providing geriatric and palliative care to patients in their homes and skilled nursing facilities. I then went on to manage the Geriatric Trauma/Geriatric Medicine Service at Dell Seton Level I Trauma Center in Austin.

Upon returning to Wyoming, I was fortunate to collaborate with the dedicated team at Reproductive Health of the Big Horns, focusing on women’s and sexual health. Most recently, I had the honor of caring for our veterans at the Sheridan VA Medical Center, where I served in both urgent care and hospital settings.

On a personal note…

I grew up in Big Horn, Wyoming and after a 13 year stint in Austin (and a few shorter ones in Moab + Nashville) - I moved home in 2019.

My partner, Troy, is a chemical engineer and operates novel beverage companies across the Intermountain West. We have two young children, who we are proud to say are 5th generation Wyomingites.

When we step away from our workspaces - you'll find us chasing after kids, gardening, and getting out on the water. We also have a modest goat herd and many chickens!

It’s great to be back in Wyoming.

And…What about that name, ‘Gannett Health’?

Gannett Peak is the tallest mountain in Wyoming. Our children’s paternal great-great-grandfather homesteaded in the hills below Gannett Peak around 1910. My own connection to Wyoming traces back to a distant cousin who settled in Big Horn in the 1920s.

I’d love to get to know you, too!
